About the sales engineer role
The sales engineer (or solutions engineer) bridges technical and commercial teams, translating customer requirements into technical solutions. They support the sales process for complex, technology-based products by providing technical expertise, product demonstrations and solution recommendations.
Sales engineers work closely with account executives, focusing on the technical evaluation phase. They conduct needs analysis, design solutions, provide demos and proof-of-concepts, address technical objections, and support contract closure.
